Sustainability Solutions
Sustainability has reached a “tipping point.” After years and even decades of engaging in one-off sustainability-related initiatives (e.g., philanthropic activities, fair labor practices, etc.), the private sector is increasingly focused on developing holistic, coordinated sustainability programs. However, though they wish to grow or reposition themselves through sustainable means, many private sector corporations are unable to fully address key challenges due to:
- Limited internal experience with sustainability efforts and lack of clarity around what “sustainability” truly means
- Difficulty in accessing knowledge and expertise from external sustainability experts who are also pragmatic
- Questionable pay-offs and solutions that do not adequately account for management concerns or financial priorities
